Radon Exposure 40% to 55%: This exposure is through radon in air, radon in water sources, building materials, and natural gas.
Medical exposure 17%: Tracer elements utilized in special tests, barium, iodine, and other traceable low level radioactive elements (some 100 to 300 different types are in routine use). Nuclear medicine and radiopharmaceuticals. X-rays, radiation treatments.
Internal Radiation exposure 15%: Our bodies through normal chemical reaction produce low levels of radioactive elements and minerals. Some minerals that are required by our bodies are radioactive ie: potassium, and other elements produced through burning ie: tobacco smoke
Gamma Radiation exposure 15%: Primarily from building materials, back ground radiation (outside), and from industrial sources and materials.
Cosmic Radiation exposure 12%: This source is the most recognized and probably the most visible. It includes Ultra Violet radiation (UV), cosmic rays from the sun and solar system, sun spots and other intergalactic sources.
Other Radiation exposures 1%: This 1% includes fall out from nuclear weapons testing, (ground and air testing past and present) nuclear power plants, and nuclear refining and processes.
