Nor Environmental has taken a three fold approach in developing the NBC COMMS 4.

INDIVIDUAL

At the individuals level, communications while wearing an respirator can be frustrating when conversations are undertaken by yelling to be heard or having to repeat to be understood. We incorporate a miniature "tuned" micro-phone into the respirator, connected to a dual speaker headset, ensuring direct, quiet, clear, non repetitive communications between individuals.

TEAM

At the team level we have incorporated MOTOROLA FM radio technology with the incorporation of 16 channel programmable radios through either a Push To Talk (PTT) or Voice Activated (VOX/ PTT) control box connected to the headset and mirco-phone. This enables On Site Controllers and individual teams to operate on separate frequencies, cutting down on crowded channels.

STAFF

At the COMMAND AND CONTROL staff level the incorporation of the programmable 16 channel radio system into the respirator allows the C2 staff to monitor not only the On Site Controller but also the individual teams, enabling real time SITREPS at the turn of the frequency selector, assisting them to react to situations that are unfolding in real time.

The NBC COMMS 4 was designed to be integrated into existing modern NBC masks.

This complete communications package ensures positive control within any operations area throughout all environments.

Direct communications from the CP (Command Post) to personnel on site. Multi frequency capability, clear, normal speech level conversations with or without the NBC mask on.

Ensure on scene information with out the degradation of standard voice emitters or the need to stop operations to brief CP.

CP and On Site Commander can monitor all aspects of the operation at the turn of the frequency selector.

Communication frequencies can be altered as the need arises, more frequencies can be added as required in theater.

The NBC COMMS 4 is designed to take advantage of quick reaction capability in constantly changing environments.

Up to 16 individual channels can be entered into each radio.

Each unit comes with modified NBC mask, dual external headset for high noise areas like fight line, decon area, maintenance areas etc. Push To Talk (PTT) or PTT/ VOX (Voice Activated) control box, and choice of two or sixteen channel portable FM radio.

Each NBC COMMS 4 unit is ruggedly designed to take the punishment of a force on the move.
